About a little over a year ago now, I was up in my youth room writing songs. It was around 7 or 8pm that night and I sat down by my gear and prayed that God would just give me something that my youth group, that the youth and young adults in the world need to hear. Immediately He gave me the visions of the times where teens in my youth group would break down to the point of tears. I remember wondering every time I would see that “whats going on in their life right now?” ” where are they in their life that is so broken?”. So God gave me this song called, By a Beautiful Saviour. Here are the lyrics. Check out the myspace to hear the song
You’re hope to the hopeless oh Lord
You’re hand is providing to the Poor
You’re strength everlasts for all who are weakYou are love to the lonely Oh Lord
You’re assurance for all of the insecure
You are healing for all of these scared heartsThere is hope
There is faith
and His love will make a wayAn everlasting love
will find you where are
An everlasting love
is seeking every heart
and every tear will be dried by
a beautiful savior
By a beautiful saviorYou are light shining in the darkest place
You are love that no body can escape
You are freedom for of those who are bound
To me the song speaks so much about the hardships in life. The first two verses speak of life around us here. So many problems cloud our way in life, its so easy to get caught up and battered down by things like financial situations, hopelessness, insecurities, a painful past, loneliness and stuff like that and how a life in God is the reverse of that, or how God can reverse those situations. The last verse speaks of how spiritually we can be imprisoned. How our lives are shackled by sin and blinded by the darkness of lies, and how God is here to break us free from all of that. I just felt that God was telling me to tell people there is hope in all of this, I am here in all of this. So thats where the pre chorus and the chorus come from. It says “there is hope, there is faith, and His love will make a way”. To me, it declares the victory in all of this. It declares the fact that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it IS clear to see.
So when I thought of the pain that my youth kids were feeling when thinking about those visions of them crying and wondering what they were going through, the chorus just came to me so quickly. That God will be right where you are. That where ever the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom from hurt and pain. That “every tear will be dried by a beautiful saviour” That He will meet you at your lowest place to pick you up from the mess your in, that He will be there to heal any wounds that keep you from being connected with Him and seeing his face clearly.
Since the creation of this song, it’s become one of my favorites. No, not because it was a song that was written by me (because it wasn’t. God totally wrote it) but because its speaks to my heart so much about what Im here to do for God. So God has totally blessed me to be able to share this song of hope to hundreds of youth and young adults around the area and even more places. It’s such an incredible blessing for God to use me to deliver this message to people all around who might need to hear it. It’s such a blessing when people come up to me or my band or email us saying “your song has touched my life/heart in such away…” or “Your song has changed my life in such and such way” It really puts things into perspective and really shows the fruit of the abilities that God has blessed you with. That writing songs about God’s love and sharing them is a true ministry that is reaching people. It’s not just you writing songs anymore. But you are becoming a messenger for God, bringing his love and his words to people. It’s being the hands and feet.
So this song, speaks of hope. A hope to declare that love is on its way to make things better. Though we might not be able to see it, thought we might not experience it quickly enough (in the time that we want it to happen) a beautiful saviour has come to meet you at the very place you are, at your lowest place to take away all the hurt, all the pain. That a saviour is here to give you a life so abundant, a life to prosper you, not to harm you. That Jesus Christ has made YOU a way out.
